Tratava-se de um inquérito policial referente às divergências nos documentos apresentados pelo réu. Este obteve carteira de eleitor declarando ser filho de José Vieira Cunha e ter nascido em 13/08/1875 na capital. Ao fazer o requerimento de carteira de identidade, afirmou ter nascido em Pernambuco. Por se tratar de crime político, lhe foi concedida a anistia pelo Governo Provisório do Presidente Getúlio Vargas. Decreto nº 20558 de 23/10/1931, artigo 1. Julgado prescrita a ação penal. Código Penal, artigo 71 no. 2.
