O réu teria entrado no estabelecimento de Basilio Pontes de Carvalho, pedindo que trocasse uma cédula no valor de 100$000 réis. basílio tomou anotação do número da cédula e a trocou, por conhecer Américo, sob a condição de trocá-la caso fosse falsa. No dia seguinte, o réu negou-se a reconhecer a cédula, sendo esta falsa, mesmo frente a testemunhas. Foi acusado sob o Código Criminal, art 241. A açõ se fez extinta , tendo sido prescrita após o tempo decorrido. Inquérito, 1903; Termo de Exame, 1903.
